The Weekender • Autumn 2023
Weekends are a time for relaxation and rejuvenation, and our employees are no exception. We caught up with one of our team members, to get a glimpse into their weekend routine and how they like to unwind after a long work week.

Weekends are a time to recharge and take a break from the daily routine. For me, Saturdays are all about starting the day with a refreshing walk with my dogs and getting a cup of coffee from my favourite local cafe. It's a perfect way to kick off a day and accomplish two things at once.
Keeping the weekend open is what makes it so enjoyable for me. I prefer keeping it relaxed and unstructured, which allows me to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. I usually take the dogs for an all-day hike, work out at the outdoor gym in the local park or reserve, swim in the ocean or just relax in the park. The sound of my two staffie sisters roughhousing and making piglet sounds keeps me entertained for hours.
When I have weekend plans with my friends, we love to indulge in outdoor activities or sports like mountain biking, hiking, or heading to the beach. Our morning routine stays the same, except I get up earlier to keep it short.
In the evenings, I love to relax by walking the dogs, catching up on my favourite TV shows and movies or immersing myself in gaming and anime. Recently, I bought a One Piece manga set, which I plan to read a lot. If I'm out, I'm usually at a pub or shisha lounge with friends, discussing the latest tech and startup developments, side hustles, or brainstorming new projects like leveraging the recently released Notion AI or GPT-4 chatbot. However, my happiest place is in the park with the dogs.
Sundays are all about winding down and indulging in relaxation. I take the dogs for another walk and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at home or at a nearby cafe. Later, I might catch a UFC match at a pub or spend the day reading, relaxing, and enjoying the company of my furry friends.
