Hello from our CEO • Autumn 2024

As autumn unfolds in Sydney, we're experiencing unusually warm temperatures and sunshine, reflecting the vibrant energy at Sefa. Our Engagement Team has been on the road across NSW, learning from regional communities to understand how we can support women facing disadvantage. I'm excited to share insights from our EmpowerHER roadshow and the launch of our first Activating ChangeMakers hub in the Northern Rivers. 

At Sefa, we believe in shining a light on for-purpose activities and the dedicated individuals behind them, especially in our country's most resilient regions. A testament to this is our long-standing client, Corryong Neighbourhood Centre (CNC). Our journey with Sara and CNC has been a dynamic one, highlighting the difference capital and capability can make, as well as the realities of running a social enterprise. We have finally taken a moment to reflect on the ever-changing journey we have been on with their community. 

Sefa remains a strong advocate that capital is not the be-all and end-all, but that for-purpose organisations can benefit from it like from many other tools in the ‘growing your impact’ toolkit. To demystify the capital-raising journey, we've explored what's critical before and after securing investment. Shifting the conversation from impact investing to investing in impact is vital, and I'm thrilled to discuss this further at the Impact Investment Summit. Our quarterly update wouldn't be complete without spotlighting a member of our team in our "Behind the Impact" series. This time, we're introducing Alice, whose technical innovation and tech affinity are invaluable as we venture into new territories to unlock more impact together. 

As we embrace the season's changes, I'm grateful for the resilience and innovation of our team, partners, and the communities we serve. Together, we're creating a brighter future, fueled by purpose and impact.
