Sefa named investment delivery partner of the Queensland Treasury’s Financing Growth Fund
Sefa has been announced as the investment delivery partner for the Queensland Government’s Financing Growth Fund.
The Financing Growth Fund is one of three impact investment initiatives included in the Queensland Government’s Social Enterprise and Impact Investing Roadmap 2025. The roadmap is designed to address the capability and capital access gap of social enterprises and other impact driven organisations across the growth continuum.
The Queensland Government has committed $12 million towards the Financing Growth Fund. The government’s support means Sefa will be able to deliver tailored advisory support and capability building, as well as catalytic loans to social enterprises and for-purpose organisations across metropolitan, regional and remote Queensland.
The Financing Growth Fund backs growing but less-mature social enterprises and for-purpose organisations – a group that has traditionally experienced underinvestment. The Fund will support developing organisations looking to grow their impact, as well as established businesses building sustainability as they work towards their next milestone.
Many social enterprises and for-purpose organisations in Queensland struggle to access the finance they need to grow. They fall between the gaps of traditional lending and grant funding, particularly in regional and remote areas where access to capital and support is harder to come by. The Financing Growth Fund exists to change that, and regional organisations, Indigenous-owned and led businesses, and female-owned and led businesses are cohorts that will be prioritised for access.
Hanna Ebeling, CEO of Sefa, said:
"We are proud to partner with the Queensland Government to deliver the Financing Growth Fund. For-purpose organisations across Queensland do vital work in their communities, but too often they can't access the finance and support they need to stabilise and grow. This Fund helps close that gap, and we look forward to walking beside these organisations across Queensland as they build their capability and reach their next stage of growth. We are excited to build on our 15 years of experience working with for-purpose organisations across Australia, and to be part of the dynamic and exciting Queensland impact market."
