Independent Living Villages Ltd (ILV) is aiming to scale and boost the supply of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in NSW.
ILV believes every person has the right to choice and independence in relation to where they live.
More than a housing provider, ILV are specialists in the SDA process. They support coordinators, NDIS participants and their families and carers, through the complex SDA process to secure a residence.
ILV works closely with people with disabilities, support coordinators and the NIDS to redefine specialist disability accommodation. This gives people the freedom to live self-determined, independent lives and find their place to call home.
Since 2016, Sefa has collaborated with ILV to explore financing options for SDA developments on various sites in the Blue Mountains area. Sefa structured a funding solution for ILV’s development in Blackheath which was completed in 2019.
ILV partnered with a disability service provider partner operating in regional NSW, VIC and the ACT for over 30 years, who provided a 25 year lease at peppercorn rent and subordinated debt to ILV for the Blackheath development.
ILV’s SDA development in Blackheath includes six fully equipped private apartments, with a total of nine bedrooms. There are communal facilities including living area, dining, kitchen, and laundry. The homes are designed with a focus on quality, comfort, accessibility and liveability.
Nine residents are provided with a home, in which a dedicated team provide the services each individual requires. This will enrich lives with improvements in self-care, independence and new social experiences.
