Sefa joins forces with Xero to strengthen financial literacy for Australia's impact-led organisations
Sefa has announced a new collaboration with Xero to bring the Xero For Good: Financial fitness program to Australia's impact sector, helping purpose-led organisations build stronger financial foundations so they can grow with confidence and ultimately do more good.
The free program is designed to strengthen financial literacy through practical tools, resources and mentoring that help small business owners and not-for-profits better understand and manage their finances. It's especially valuable for organisations that may not have access to traditional networks or financial support.
By making financial education more accessible, the partnership will help more small businesses build the confidence and resilience they need to sustain and grow their impact.
Practical support that fits around you
Developed in collaboration with small business owners, the Xero For Good: Financial fitness program is designed to fit into busy schedules, with flexible learning and personalised support.
The program includes two key components:
Xero For Good: Financial fitness content hub – A growing library of short videos and practical guides that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and completed in as little as five minutes a week - making it easy to build financial knowledge over time.
Xero For Good Ambassador program – Free mentoring from Xero accountants and bookkeepers where impact leaders put their learning into practice, apply it to their own organisation, and take meaningful steps towards long-term financial confidence.
Helping impact organisations build stronger foundations
"Financial literacy is a cornerstone of organisational resilience and impact growth, and Xero For Good: Financial fitness offers a practical, inclusive way to support that journey," said Hanna Ebeling, CEO of Sefa.
“We know Australia's impact leaders and social entrepreneurs are driven by a strong desire to make a difference for the people they serve, but financial management isn't always their highest priority.
“Over time, this can become one of the biggest barriers to growing or sustaining an organisation's impact.
“The Xero For Good: Financial fitness program gives people the tools to better understand their finances, regardless of where they started, what challenges they've faced, or where they want to take their impact next.
“We encourage our program participants, clients and organisational leaders across the impact sector to explore the program and take advantage of the free resources and mentoring available. Even five minutes a week can make a meaningful difference."
We're delighted to partner with Sefa to extend the reach of Xero For Good: Financial fitness to the impact sector in Australia. We know many purpose-driven organisations struggle to fund training and coaching for their teams, and often don't have access to resources to help them navigate the financial side of their operations. So it's great to be working with Sefa to make this free, purpose-built program available to them. We’re looking forward to hearing how it helps to build their financial fitness.
