Impact & Advisory Manager, Strategy - Sydney

Impact & Advisory Manager, Strategy

Sefa helps impact-led organisations do more good through expert, tailored advisory services and responsible finance solutions. Since 2011, we've walked side by side with our clients, providing them with the support, confidence and capital they need to grow their impact.

We ask bold questions, challenge old thinking and back the organisations working hard to build a fairer future. Our values – Togetherness, Integrity, Champion and Innovation – are woven through everything we do. We care deeply about the work we do and the people we do it with.

As a team, we’re all about doing good and having a good time doing it! We’re a diverse group of avid tea drinkers and coffee connoisseurs with a strong case of wanderlust. You’ll find us in deep and meaningful conversations, always learning from each other. We balance our weekly team gatherings with a healthy love of chocolate – and we’re not afraid to stand out. Look for the splash of colour and you’ll find us!

Above all, we know the work that goes into creating real impact, and we’re united in backing those bold enough to build it, now and into the future.

We’re looking for an experienced Impact & Advisory Manager to help social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations and other for-purpose businesses strengthen their strategy, operations and readiness for growth and investment.

About the role

As Impact & Advisory Manager – Business Advisory & Strategy, you’ll sit within Sefa’s multidisciplinary Impact & Advisory team and lead client engagements from scoping through to delivery. You’ll help purpose-driven organisations strengthen their strategy, operations and readiness for investment, with a particular strength in turning complex information into a clear way forward.

In practice, that means you will:

  • Lead strategic advisory engagements – develop growth strategies, business cases, operating models and practical transformation roadmaps.

  • Connect impact and commercial strategy – help clients articulate their impact and link it to their business model, funding needs and investment case.

  • Undertake financial and commercial analysis – interpret financial statements, operating models, cost structures and revenue models, and build or review forecasts and scenarios.

  • Research and develop evidence-based advice – prepare compelling proposals, business cases, funding and investment submissions, board papers and reports.

  • Guide engagements from start to finish – manage scope, budget, quality, risks, deliverables and client outcomes across multiple engagements.

  • Build trusted relationships – work with senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops and identify opportunities to deliver further value.

About you

You’ll bring at least five years’ relevant experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a practical approach to helping organisations make informed decisions. You’ll be comfortable working independently within a small, multidisciplinary team while managing multiple priorities and building trusted client relationships.

You’ll thrive if you:

  • Have experience in management consulting, strategy or professional services advisory.

  • Can lead client engagements from scoping and budgeting through to delivery.

  • Are confident interpreting financial statements, management accounts and the drivers of financial sustainability.

  • Can build financial models, scenarios and forecasts to test strategic options and investment cases.

  • Enjoy working through complex or ambiguous problems and turning evidence into clear recommendations.

  • Can research and write strong proposals, business cases, submissions, board papers and reports.

  • Are confident facilitating workshops and presenting to boards, directors and senior leaders.

This is a unique opportunity to join a passionate team at the intersection of capability and capital, helping impact-led organisations become stronger, more sustainable and better prepared to grow their impact.

Why join us?

  • Be part of a passionate, values-driven team dedicated to creating social impact.

  • Flexible work options, including hybrid working arrangements at our stunning Yirranma Place office in Darlinghurst.

  • Shape and contribute to initiatives that are directly tackling systemic barriers in the for-purpose ecosystem.

  • Access to professional development and networking opportunities.

  • A supportive and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued.
