Welcome to new Board member Jay Bonnington

SEFA is delighted to welcome Jay Bonnington as a member of its Non-Executive Board.

Ms Bonnington, BCom, MBA, FCPA, FAICD, is a professional director who started her career as a Chartered Accountant in New Zealand before expanding into senior financial roles within large organisations in the UK, USA, Europe and South Africa. She has had extensive executive experience within the construction, engineering and financial services sectors, and was CEO of the national not-for-profit organisation, Make-A-Wish Foundation Australia before embarking on a portfolio directorship career.


Jay’s other roles include Director of Utilities of Australia (a Hastings Fund), the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), Perpetual Super Ltd, and a Victorian Government Statutory Board. Jay is also the Deputy Chair of the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation and also serves on the Salvation Army’s National Advisory Board. She is a Trustee of The Queens Fund, and an independent member of the Mercy Health and Aged Care Finance Committee.

Her areas of expertise are in governance, accounting, finance, economics and infrastructure. She has a BCom and a MBA (Monash) and is a Fellow at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants.
