Who we are
We aim to lead the development of social impact lending in Australia using innovative solutions to build a stronger and more dynamic social enterprise sector. We are committed to fostering positive community, indigenous and environmental impact whilst achieving financial returns.
SEFA was established in August 2011 when it was selected by the Australian Government to receive funding from its Social Enterprise Development and Investment Fund (SEDIF). On top of the $10 million grant, an additional $10 million was raised via equity investors and lenders.
SEFA is a team of experience, dedicated and committed professionals all of whom have a genuine interest in social enterprise and impact investment.

B Corp certified
SEFA joined the growing community of B Corp certified companies in August 2015. B Corps use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems, and are certified by not-for-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. SEFA aims to create positive social, cultural and environmental impact whilst generating financial return for its investors. We became a B Corp because of the match with our own mission to accelerate growth of social entrepreneurship and impact investing.
